PIPs and Kids!
This is an exciting and awesome example of Alleluia! ministries in cooperation!
The PIPs and Sunday’s Cool Kids will be working on some projects together for the upcoming year.
Here are the PIPs and KIDs projects and prospective dates:
Oct 10 – Becky and PIP Intro. (Will you do some craft or snack here? − have to keep their attention!)
Nov 7 − Placemats (remind me and I will show you an example of what my kids made. You might ask Pat S. to help you with this and she might be able to get the use of the schools cool laminating machine! Tish might also like to take some of these to the nursing home. Firemen might like some too − as I’m sure some will be on duty and away from their families on Thanksgiving.)
Dec 5 − Ornaments (We could get a mini Christmas tree, decorate it with ornaments and McDonald's gift certificates and then deliver it to the Food pantry to have the staff give out to any kids that come into the store.)
Jan 2 − Bookmarks (this might be good for the Reeb Kids? Maybe we could purchase (or ask the congregation to donate) some inexpensive books to put them in?)
Feb 6 − Valentines (this is a definite Nursing Home thing − I think it would really touch their hearts.)
Mar 13 − Prayer Eggs (I think we might be able to do 350 for Reeb)
April − any ideas for this?
May − any ideas for this?

Skipper Don, for the ministry fair, I will hand out a sheet of PIP KID TIPS entitled, "The 5 W's of Prayer."
1. Why do you pray? To talk with God.
2. Who do you pray to? Jesus, so He can tell God our Father for you.
3. When do you pray? At mealtime, bedtime or whenever we feel like it!
4. Where do we pray? At church, at home, with friends or sometimes even by ourself!
5. What do we pray for? For our family, for our self, for our friends, for our teachers, for when we do something that makes others feel sad. Jesus hears all our prayers.

(Sorry, I would post comments with my name but I can't seem to do it correctly!)
Me again (Becky J). For Oct. 10th I will bring a snack for the kids and we'll make Prayer Rocks together. I will take care of all the supplies (do you already have a handful of blunt scissors handy?) Pass around circles of cloth (material with little red hearts on it), a small stone, and curling ribbon for each child. Tie the rock in the cloth, curl the ribbon, then hand out the prayer rock poem to be read to each child on "Why We Pray." A lesson on prayer and a reminder to pray every day. Looking foward to it. And, looking forward to this Sunday, too. The PIPs are praying for you, Skipper!
